Specialized in orofacial myofunctional disorders, lactation support, and early childhood speech, language, & feeding development
Sierra Pines Speech Therapy & Myofunctional Services is independently owned and operated by me, Sarah Estes, M.S., CCC-SLP, a California-licensed speech-language pathologist. I provide consultation services to individuals and families both virtually and, when available, in person.
I earned my Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from California State University, Sacramento and maintain my Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. In addition to my clinical training, I have completed specialized education in orofacial myology through the International Association of Orofacial Myology. This advanced training has supported my work in assessing and understanding oral function, airway considerations, and patterns that may impact speech, feeding, and overall development.
I take a collaborative, whole-child approach and often work alongside other professionals such as dentists, orthodontists, and body-based therapists to support optimal outcomes. My areas of focus include orofacial development, speech sound patterns (including /r/), feeding and oral habits, and early communication skills.
I am also a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) and provide pre- and post-natal support for families who are breastfeeding. I offer education, guidance, and practical strategies to help navigate challenges such as latching difficulties, low milk supply, and discomfort, while supporting both parent and baby in a way that feels manageable and sustainable.
My work is rooted in early intervention and caregiver coaching. I support families of young children by providing guidance, strategies, and individualized recommendations that can be carried over into everyday routines. I am passionate about helping families feel confident, supported, and empowered as they navigate their child’s development.
